Biography

Ester Maza is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Madrid office, where she practices in employment law. Prior to joining the Firm in 2000, she worked as a legal adviser to Kronsa Internacional S.A. She has served as associate professor of employment law at Carlos III University Law School in Madrid since 2005 and Autonoma University Law School in Madrid since 2003. She also regularly lectures in several executive and post-graduate masters programs at different prestigious institutions and contributes articles to specialized employment and HR-related publications.

Practice Focus

Ester specializes in Labor Law, with extensive experience in conducting internal investigations related to workplace disputes, compliance matters, executive contracts, compensation and benefits, in particular equity-based incentive plans such as stock options and RSUs. Her expertise also encompasses collective bargaining with union representatives, labor considerations in mergers and acquisitions, both individual and collective employment contract terminations, global mobility issues, and representing clients in litigation before labor and administrative courts/tribunals.
