Biography

Rob maintains a broad focus to his practice and provides advice to a wide spectrum of clients in a range of different industries, on both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues. Rob has experience in the fields of Equal Pay, Investigations, Industrial Relations and Data Protection as well as providing general counsel advice. Rob joined Baker McKenzie in 2013, qualifying into the Employment & Compensation team in 2015, and has completed secondments to clients in the media and aviation sectors.

Practice Focus

Rob works for a wide range of clients, including British Airways, the BBC, Accenture and Emerson.

Litigation - assisting in the defence of a wide array of tribunal claims, including claims for discrimination, victimisation, unfair dismissal, and claims under Working Time legislation.

Data Protection - working on a number of GDPR readiness projects and advising clients on the impact of the GDPR for their business.

Industrial Relations - advising on collective agreements, industrial action and other industrial issues.

Family friendly rights - advising on the developing area of family friendly rights, including shared parental leave, parental leave and bereavement leave.

Assisting clients with redundancy programmes and senior executive terminations.

Corporate transactions - advising on acquisition and disposal of large businesses involving complex and multi-jurisdictional employment issues.

Coordinating day to day employment advice, including conducting large scale multi-jurisdictional surveys.

Rob has had an article published on the topic of holiday pay and compliance issues, has recently co-authored a BYOD policy for Practical Law and writes regularly for Baker McKenzie client alerts and updates. Rob has delivered a variety of training sessions both to clients and internally.

Rob takes an active role in the Firm's fundraising efforts, and often utilises his cycling hobby to raise money for charity.
