Biography
Carl Johan Lie Karlberg is a member of Baker McKenzie’s Private Equity Practice Group in Stockholm. He works with leading Nordic and European private equity firms and their portfolio companies as well as international corporates and his experience includes advising clients on M&A transactions and corporate matters in various industries.
He joined Baker McKenzie as an associate in 2022. Prior to joining the Firm, he was an associate in another major law firm.

Practice Focus
Carl Johan focuses his practice mainly on advising private equity firms, their portfolio companies and international corporates on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions (including private equity, growth capital and venture capital investments) and add-on acquisitions for platform investments.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised HSG on its EUR 1.1 billion acquisition of Marshall Group.
- Advised Brookfield on its joint venture with Domes Resorts.
- Advised Celero Capital on its establishment of Opima and Deltra, including multiple add-on acquisitions.
- Advised Aspira Partners and several of its portfolio companies on multiple platform investments and subsequent add-on acquisitions.
- Advised Accent on multiple acquisitions for various platforms, including Malte Månson’s acquisitions of Experten Group, Skandinaviska Buss & Truck and Kalmar Lastvagnar as well as multiple add-on acquisitions for Linotol Group, Tempcon, ThorSvecon Group and Götessons Design Group.
- Advised the shareholders, including i.a. Industrifonden, Spintop Ventures and Norrlandsfonden, in the divestment of Crosser Technologies to Schneider Electric and its portfolio company Aveva.
- Advised Lyvia on multiple acquisitions.
- Advised CR Group Nordic in its establishment and following acquisitions of Tutus Data and Fox Crypto.
- Advised Systematic Growth in the sale of Voff Premium Pet Food to Axcel.
- Advised Colliers International in the acquisition of Pangea Property Partners.
