Wei Sheng Lau

Wei Sheng has extensive experience in private funds, as well as in the formation of private investment funds and other investment vehicles across a range of asset classes, including private equity, real estate, venture capital, data centres, private credit and blended finance. He advises clients across the entire asset management value chain, including the establishment fund management platforms and co-GP arrangements, the structuring, formation and marketing of private funds, and other sponsor-related matters. Wei Sheng is also experienced in advising clients on downstream matters such as investments into early- to mid-stage businesses and into other private funds.

• Advised Keppel Fund Management on the formation of KSURF I, a USD 2 billion value-add Asian-focused private equity real estate fund which will implement "brown to green" decarbonisation, sustainability and urban renewal strategies.
• Advised Keppel Fund Management on the formation of Keppel Data Centre Fund II, a USD 1 billion private equity real estate fund focused on data centre investments in Asia and Europe.
• Advised Keppel Fund Management on the restructuring of Alpha Asia Separate Account, a SGD 1 billion Asia-focused real estate separately managed account established for PGGM, investing in mixed-use, commercial and residential real estate assets.
• Advised Keppel Fund Management on the formation of Keppel Education Asset Fund, a USD 500 million private equity real estate fund focused on early childhood and K-12 education-related assets across Asia.
• Advised CapitaLand Investment on the formation of CapitaLand APAC Credit Program II, a USD 320 million private credit fund focused on loan investments in real estate assets in Asia.
• Advised CapitaLand Investment on the formation of a JPY 308.9 billion separate managed account for a Canadian pension investor, focused on lodging investments in Japan.
• Advised Gateway Partners on the establishment of a strategic joint venture with the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), the development impact-oriented subsidiary of the African Export-Import Bank, for the establishment and operation of a series of Africa-focused private credit funds.
• Advised Gateway Partners on the formation of Africa Credit Opportunities Fund, a USD 250 million private credit fund co-managed with FEDA, focused on Africa private credit investments to strengthen Africa trade and development.
• Advised Gateway Partners on the formation of Gateway Fund II, a USD 1 billion private equity fund with a focus on African, Middle East and Asian investments.
