Kevin Heverin
Biography
Kevin Heverin is a partner in the Banking and Finance group in London and a member of the Global Restructuring and Insolvency team. He has a wealth of cross-border and cross-sector experience, advising clients on complex financial restructurings, workouts and debt financings, as well as special situations investments and other transactions in the strategic capital solutions space. His clients include debtors, par and secondary investors, creditor groups, sponsors and insolvency practitioners.
Kevin has completed secondments to Goldman Sachs and to Morgan Stanley.
Kevin has been recognised as a Next Generation Partner by The Legal 500 UK 2025 in the Corporate Restructuring & Insolvency category. Kevin is described as "exceptionally proactive in helping clients get well ahead of anticipated issues and developments" and "great to work with and super responsive, with deep subject matter expertise." He is also acknowledged for his focus in relation to special situations matters.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised various funds and investors in relation to strategic investments across EMEA.
- Advised a private equity-owned manufacturing group on a fully consensual financial restructuring and injection of new capital.
- Advised a creditor of a Middle Eastern energy company on potential restructuring and enforcement options.
- Advised a sovereign on its proposed market leading corporate insolvency laws for a special economic zone, including drafting its associated rules and regulations.
- Advised Vice Media, as debtors' counsel, in the chapter 11 cases of the global digital media and broadcasting company in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, including a sale to a consortium of pre-petition lenders.
- Advised Mubadala in relation to the comprehensive financial restructuring of, and its further investment in, a strategically important asset in Abu Dhabi.
- Represented Citibank, N.A., in its capacity as administrative agent and lender in connection with the chapter 11 bankruptcy cases of Valaris plc and certain of its subsidiaries.
- Advised an ad hoc lender group in the prepackaged chapter 11 bankruptcy cases of MD America Energy.
- Advised an ad hoc lender group in the prepackaged chapter 11 bankruptcy cases of Pioneer Energy Services Inc.
- Advised a counterparty in relation to its claims in the restructuring of Noble Group, implemented in part via an English law scheme of arrangement.
- Advised an ad hoc group of creditors on the restructuring of the indebtedness of Seven Energy.
- Advised a group of lenders on the restructuring of Danish shipping company TORM A/S, including the use of a scheme of arrangement.
- Advised Oak Hill Advisors and York Capital in connection with their investments in Globalworth.
- Advised a coordinating committee of banks on the financial restructuring of Tabreed, an Abu Dhabi-based district cooling company with operations across the Middle East.
- Advised the WIND Hellas group, the Greek telecommunications operator, on all aspects of its financial restructuring, implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement and several 'pre-packaged' administrations.
