Julia advises on a broad range of UK/EU matters including consumer protection compliance, e-commerce, advertising, and platform regulation issues with a focus on consumer transactions, particularly in the retail sector and on the technology side of fast-moving consumer products.

• Providing strategic advice to international retailers on their UK/EU expansion of both online and retail consumer sales channels, including changes to the UK & EU legislative framework for consumer protection, marketing/ad regulations and privacy issues.
• Significant expertise in consumer regulatory investigations (EU CPC, CMA and ASA), most recently in relation to dark patterns/OCA, UCPD, DSA, green claims, subscriptions, fake reviews and the enforcement of consumer protection laws in the use of generative AI.
• Advising on the regulation of retail sales across EMEA including website compliance, pricing practices and promotional activities regulations for digital platforms and luxury goods retailers.
• Advising on local compliance issues on a global basis with particular focus on highly regulated sectors including sales of alcohol, gambling activities, package travel rules and healthcare products.
