Biography

Richard Grön is a member of Baker McKenzie’s International Commercial and Trade Practice in Stockholm and he has vast experience advising clients in commercial agreements, related regulatory matters and transactions. Prior to joining the Firm in 2020, Richard was working at another law firm in Stockholm.

Practice Focus

Richard focuses his practice on drafting, advising, and negotiating commercial agreements. He has broad experience of working with distribution solutions, including dealer-, wholesale- and franchising networks and he assists clients in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements and supports clients in related regulatory matters, such as data privacy and competition law issues. He is often engaged to assist with complex agreement negotiations involving cross-border elements, multi-party interests, and long-term strategic partnerships. Richard also has extensive experience in working with transactions (including carve-outs and joints ventures) and preparing related commercial agreements.

Richard routinely advises national and international clients in various industries, and he has a particular focus in providing legal advice to clients in the automotive and tyre industries, having continuously advised several global vehicle manufacturers on commercial- and regulatory matters.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advising a large industrial client in relation to the development of a production facility and drafting and negotiating of a multi-jurisdictional, long-term distribution agreement and related matters.
  • Advising a global vehicle manufacturer in relation to the client's transition from a distribution model into a commercial agency setup, including reviewing and preparing a commercial agency agreement, distribution agreement and preparing agreements and other documents for the client's direct sales to consumers over the Internet and in brick-and-mortar points of sale.
  • Advising a global vehicle manufacturer in relation to the drafting and negotiation of a multi-jurisdictional, long-term agreement regarding roadside assistance services.
  • Advising a global vehicle manufacturer on the roll-out of its charging infrastructures from a regulatory perspective as well as preparing related business- and consumer facing agreements with regards to the same.
  • Advising a public entity in connection with a significant procurement of infrastructure including drafting commercial agreements and related matters.
  • Advising a large international industrial client with drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements in relation to the development, implementation, and operation of a production facility.
