George Bullock
Biography
George is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s Dispute Resolution team, based in London.
George is a member of the Firm’s Private Wealth, Succession and Trust Disputes team and has advised ultra-high-net-worth individuals, beneficiaries and trustees on a range of contentious trust and private wealth issues. He has worked on both commercial and investor-state arbitrations under the ICSID, ICC and LCIA arbitration rules and has also advised on corporate investigations.
George has also maintained an active pro bono practice.
George joined Baker McKenzie as a trainee solicitor in 2022 and qualified into the Dispute Resolution Department in March 2024. During his training contract, George was seconded to the Firm's Johannesburg office where he worked on a range of local contentious and regulatory issues.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, beneficiaries and trustees on a range of contentious trust issues, including setting aside and winding up trusts, distribution of trust assets, breach of SPA warranties, unlawful-means conspiracy and dishonest assistance and professional negligence claims.
- Advising a company hosting sporting events on potential actions following a breach of a licencing agreement by the other party.
- Representing a Georgian consumer goods company in an arbitration under the LCIA rules following the disputed termination of a licencing agreement.
- Assisting in ICSID and ICC arbitrations in relation to commercial and investment treaty proceedings regarding the termination of a concession for a port in Georgia, including preparing for and attending trial.
- Representing a Middle Eastern hospitality company in an ad-hoc arbitration under the 1996 Arbitration Act against a landlord on a dispute relating to prime commercial property.
- Conducting an internal investigation on behalf of an S&P 500 software company following internal complaints of Russia-related sanctions and trade violations.
- Advising a major international restaurant company on a franchisee’s internal investigation following complaints of modern slavery at franchisee restaurants.
- Advising a major multinational technology corporation company following an RFI from the European Commission.
