Baker McKenzie has advised RIU Hotel Group on the development and opening of its first hotel in Phuket, marking the hospitality group's entry into Thailand and an important milestone in its expansion across Asia-Pacific.

Baker McKenzie worked closely with the client in relation to the land acquisition, development and operational requirements necessary for the establishment of the hotel, as well as engagement with relevant government authorities and stakeholders throughout the project.

RIU Hotel Group is one of Spain's leading hospitality companies, with a global portfolio of hotels and resorts across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. The opening of its first hotel in Phuket represents another significant step in the group's international growth strategy.
