Baker McKenzie advised Groupe Barrière on the opening of Fouquet’s Mykonos, its first location in Greece and the fifth property of the hotel brand, following Paris, New York, Courchevel and Saint-Barthélemy.

Developed in partnership with Yoda Group and to be operated by Barrière under a management agreement, the hotel will open on 27 June 2026 on Paraga Beach, in the south of the island of Mykonos.

Fouquet’s Mykonos will feature 61 suites and three private villas ranging from 600 to 1,000 square meters. The property will also include a beach club, a restaurant, a bar, and a spa, notably featuring an indoor swimming pool carved into the rock. This opening marks a new milestone in Groupe Barrière’s international development and the expansion of the Fouquet’s brand into high-end Mediterranean destinations.

Leveraging its global network and in-depth knowledge of European and Mediterranean markets, Baker McKenzie has been supporting major French groups for many years in their most ambitious international expansion strategies.

Baker McKenzie assisted Groupe Barrière with a team led by Stéphane Taïeb (Partner, Tax) and Maria Batlouni (Counsel, Real Estate) on the legal and tax aspects of the transaction. Nicolas Delgrandi and Matthieu Velten, associates, also contributed to the matter.

Finally, AKL LawFirm was consulted on the Greek law aspects of the transaction.
