Baker McKenzie, in collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), hosted the Vietnam-Thailand Business Forum 2025: Strategic Insights for Investors and Business Leaders, drawing over 100 participants from various industry sectors.

The forum opened with a keynote address from H.E. Mr. Pham Viet Hung, ambassador of Vietnam to Thailand, followed by remarks from Petcharat Eksangkul, vice chair of the FTI, who spoke on the FTI’s role as a private organization representing Thailand’s industrial sectors and enterprises. A plenary session led by a multidisciplinary team of partners and senior lawyers from Baker McKenzie’s Vietnam offices provided a broad overview of investment trends and outlooks, with a focus on Vietnam’s growth sectors. The session also covered key updates on Vietnam’s investment and enterprise laws, cross-border opportunities for Thai investors, and available government incentives. Attendees then joined breakout panels with transactional and regulatory themes.

“Today’s forum is part of Baker McKenzie’s ongoing commitment to providing our clients with practical insights into the evolving legal and regulatory environments across ASEAN,” said Wynn Pakdeejit, managing partner of Baker McKenzie in Thailand. “We are especially delighted to welcome our colleagues from our Vietnam office, who bring deep expertise on Vietnam’s market and legal landscape.”

Peerapan Tungsuwan, Corporate and M&A partner and chair of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry Group and Sustainability Practice in Thailand, added: “We are proud to collaborate with the FTI to enhance our efforts in supporting Thai businesses and industries in their outbound expansion into strategic regional and global markets. Hearing directly from our Vietnam colleagues about key practicalities and challenges — and how to navigate them — helps Thai companies take meaningful steps toward success.”

Oanh Nguyen, managing partner of Baker McKenzie’s Vietnam offices, highlighted strategic opportunities for Thai investors in Vietnam across key sectors — including consumer and retail, logistics, technology, and renewable energy — driven by Vietnam’s rising middle class, supply chain diversification, digital growth and green economy initiatives.

The forum underscored Baker McKenzie’s strength in combining global reach with deep local knowledge. With a presence in more than 40 jurisdictions, the Firm is well-positioned to support clients in developing cross-border strategies that align with regulatory requirements.
