Baker McKenzie advised Weave Living, Asia Pacific's preeminent living sector specialist, on its joint venture with BlackRock and Lian Beng Group to acquire a serviced apartment building at 12 Shan Road in Novena, Singapore.
The newly acquired building, which marks Weave Living's fourth property in Singapore, will be upgraded with lifestyle and wellness amenities and will reopen under the company's contemporary serviced accommodation brand, Weave Suites — Novena, in 2026. This acquisition continues Weave Living's partnerships with BlackRock and Lian Beng Group, following earlier projects in Bugis and Mount Sophia.
Partner Jason Ng led the Baker McKenzie team, with support from Senior Associate Isaac Yeung and Associate Jojo Ha.
Commenting on the deal, Jason said: "We are thrilled to have supported our long-term client Weave Living on this transaction, having also advised on their partnership with BlackRock to acquire the property in Mount Sophia which has now become Weave Suites – Hillside. It is exciting to see Weave Living's portfolio expanding robustly across the Asia Pacific region and their partnerships with BlackRock and Lian Beng Group strengthening continuously. We deeply value the opportunity to contribute to Weave Living’s dedication to redefining urban living across the region, utilising our extensive expertise in advising asset managers and institutional investors, as well as our profound knowledge of the living and lodging sector."
