Global law firm Baker McKenzie has been honored for its impactful pro bono work around the world, earning recognitions from the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice as well as the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA).
The Firm was recognized by the Vance Center for its contribution to supporting and protecting marginalized populations around the world, including in Africa, Latin America and North America. The Firm was honored for these efforts on 21 May at the Center’s Celebration of International Pro Bono Excellence in New York.
Baker McKenzie has also received the Beacon of Justice Award from the NLADA for the fifth consecutive year in recognition of its commitment to advancing equal justice through pro bono work.
Led by Angela Vigil, Partner and Executive Director of Global Pro Bono and Jaclyn Pampel, Partner and Director of North America Pro Bono, the Firm has launched and participated in numerous high-impact initiatives focused on the protection of marginalized groups around the world. The Firm leverages an extensive network of public interest partners, legal aid groups, children's rights organizations, companies, clients, friends and non-profits to make an impact within local communities.
