In brief

On 5 December 2025, the National Mining Secretariat published Resolution No. 101/2025 (“Resolution”). The Resolution establishes the updated annual mining fee (canon) that holders of mining rights must pay, with an increase of 31.3%.

As the canon is payable in advance and in two equal installments, due on 30 June and 31 December each year, the updated amount of the canon for the first half of 2026 is due on 31 December 2025.

The Resolution updated the annual mining canon per tenement using the consumer price index, as follows:

First category substances (lithium, gold, silver, copper, etc.) ARS 17,740.09
Second category substances ARS 8,963.42
Provisional explorations or concessions of first and
second category for one unit of measurement (500 ha)
ARS 90,381.06

As an example, the following table compares the canon for 2025 with that for 2026, assuming a 10,000‑hectare exploration and a concession of 35 tenements, both assumptions for first-category minerals:
