In brief
By means of Resolution No. 843/2026 (“Resolution”), the National Communications Entity (ENACOM, for its acronym in Spanish) postponed the entry into force of the new Regulations of the Registry of Telecommunications Activities and Equipment (RAMATEL, for its acronym in Spanish) approved in the past by Resolution No. 57/2026.
In focus
To ensure an orderly implementation of the new regulations, the Resolution extends the transition period established by Resolution No. 57/2026 and temporarily maintains the current regulatory procedure in force.
The main aspects of the Resolution include:
- Deferral of the new regulations: the entry into force of the new regulations is postponed until 1 December 2026.
- Continuation of the existing regime: until the new effective date (i.e., 1 December 2026), registration and related procedures will continue to be governed by Resolution No. 729/80 and its complementary regulations.
- Transitional regime: registrations granted under the existing framework will remain valid for three years and must subsequently be adapted to the new regulations to avoid their automatic cancellation.
- Deferral of the repeal of existing regulations: the repeal of the regulations currently applicable to telecommunications equipment approval and certification is also postponed until 1 December 2026.
The deferral aims at ensuring the proper, orderly, and efficient implementation of the new regulations by allowing the completion of the outstanding technical and operational tasks necessary for the new procedure to enter into force under conditions that guarantee its effective implementation.
