In brief

On 29 May 2026, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) issued its Information Paper on Valuation Practices for Fund Management Companies ("Paper"). The Paper may be viewed here.

The Paper outlines MAS' supervisory expectations for effective governance structures, frameworks, policies and procedures (P&Ps) and controls with respect to valuation of funds' assets ("Valuation Practices"). These expectations are based on key findings from thematic valuation inspections of selected Fund Management Companies (FMCs) across a range of investment strategies, including those conducted by external auditors appointed by MAS.

The Paper covers:

  1. Governance
  2. Policies & Procedures
  3. Ongoing price validation checks
  4. Valuation approaches and methodologies

The valuation guidance in the Paper applies to funds and other forms/arrangements managed by the FMC.
