Dr. Markus Wolf is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Banking & Finance and Restructuring & Insolvency teams in Zurich. He has previously worked in the Firm's Sydney office and was seconded to the legal team of one of Switzerland's leading banks. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in 2012, he worked as a visiting associate with The Boston Consulting Group.
Markus advises on all aspects of banking and finance and restructuring and insolvency. He has extensive experience advising lenders, borrowers and sponsors on complex, multijurisdictional leveraged acquisition, corporate, project, export and property financing transactions. He regularly acts for Swiss and foreign creditors and debtors in domestic and cross-border financial restructurings and formal insolvency procedures.
Markus has published numerous articles on banking and finance and restructuring and insolvency topics in Swiss and international journals (including the Journal of International Banking and Financial Law, the International Financial Law Review and the Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice).

Advised a syndicate of Swiss and international banks on the debt restructuring of a major Swiss based fashion retailer.
Advised a syndicate of Swiss and international banks on a standstill and security pool arrangement for a Swiss based international manufacturer of high-precision machine components.
Advised Toshiba's Westinghouse Group on the Swiss law aspects of Westinghouse LLC's Chapter 11 filing in the US and, in particular, debtor-in-possession financing.
Advised Credit Suisse (Switzerland) Ltd. as mandated lead arranger and bookrunner, agent, security agent and original lender and a syndicate of banks on their up to USD 150 million senior secured multicurrency revolving credit financing for SR Technics Switzerland AG.
Advised Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) on the financing of its acquisition of duagon, a Dietikon, Switzerland-based provider of network components for data communication in railway vehicles.
Advised SIX Swiss Exchange listed SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH AG in connection with a comprehensive refinancing and issuance of EUR 200 million 5.625% senior secured notes.
Advised SIX Swiss Exchange listed Walter Meier AG in connection with the financing of its de facto merger with Tobler Haustechnik AG.
Advised Neoen, a leading French renewable energy company, on debt financing for the 100MW first stage of its Hornsdale wind farm project near Jamestown in South Australia.
Advised UBS AG and a syndicate of Swiss and foreign banks on the amendment of a syndicated secured credit facility and a mortgage loan facility for a listed Swiss-based global technology company.
Advised Colony Capital, LLC on debt financing for its acquisition of the campuses of two hotel management schools in Western Switzerland.
