Biography

Elaine Wilkins is an associate in the New York office of Baker McKenzie and is a member of the Firm's North America Tax Practice Group.

Practice Focus

Elaine advises on federal income taxation of corporations and partnerships. She focuses her practice on international tax planning, including the tax-efficient structuring and restructuring of international operations. She frequently coordinates across jurisdictions and practice groups to manage global reorganizations in connection with post-acquisition integration and legal entity rationalization projects. Elaine actively advises clients regarding international tax aspects of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, including with respect to the validity of related Treasury regulations. She also provides advice on M&A and project finance activity, particularly in the renewable energy sector.

  • Represented a US publicly traded multinational pharmaceuticals company in connection with one of the largest acquisitions in the industry and advised on post-acquisition integration matters.

  • Represented a US publicly traded multinational transportation services company in connection with post-acquisition integration matters following an approximately USD 4.8 billion stock acquisition.

  • Represented a US publicly traded multinational company in connection with its acquisition of an e-commerce platform.

  • Represented a US publicly traded multinational pharmaceuticals company in connection with its approximately USD 13 billion asset divestiture.
