Jean-François Vandenberghe
Biography
Jean-François Vandenberghe is a senior counsel in the Real Estate and Construction Practice Group. Having joined Baker McKenzie in 1994, he brings more than three decades of experience advising clients on complex real estate and construction matters. He previously led the Real Estate Practice Group in Belgium and across the EMEA region and is also a member of the Environmental Law and Corporate Practice Groups. Jean-François served as Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie's Belgian offices from 2009 to 2016 and, more recently, on an interim basis from January 2023 to March 2024.

- Represented Nextensa in the acquisition and sale of Oeverloos NV holding a Motel One hotel in Antwerp.
- Represented Engie in the lease of its new HQ in the Oxy building Brussels and agreements on its current premises.
- Represented with Benamin Pirlet the EU Commission in the sale of 22 buildings to the Belgian sovereign fund.
- Represented Blue Propco (Goldman Sachs) in the acquisition of a long lease right on the Blue Tower office building in Brussels from Befimmo and ongoing property work (lease/construction) on the same.
