Biography

Jean-François Vandenberghe is a partner in the Real Estate and Construction Practice Group. He joined Baker McKenzie in 1994. Within Baker McKenzie, he leads the Real Estate Practice Group in Belgium and for the EMEA region. He is also a member of the Environmental Law Practice Group and the Corporate Practice Group. Jean-François was also the managing partner of the Belgian offices from 2009 to 2016, and more recently ad-interim since end of January 2023 to end of March 2024.

  • Represented Nextensa in the acquisition and sale of Oeverloos NV holding a Motel One hotel in Antwerp.

  • Represented Engie in the lease of its new HQ in the Oxy building Brussels and agreements on its current premises.

  • Represented with Benamin Pirlet the EU Commission in the sale of 22 buildings to the Belgian sovereign fund.

  • Represented Blue Propco (Goldman Sachs) in the acquisition of a long lease right on the Blue Tower office building in Brussels from Befimmo and ongoing property work (lease/construction) on the same.
