Biography

Anna van Bracht is a partner with the Employment Practice Group at Baker McKenzie's Amsterdam office. Anna advises multinationals and provides services across the entire spectrum of employment, employee participation law and global mobility. Anna has extensive experience in assisting clients with collective dismissals and coordinating global employment projects. 

Practice Focus

Anna's practice is focused on employment law, providing general advice and representing clients in litigation. From a "collective" employment law perspective, she provides legal support to clients going through the process of collective dismissals, works council-related issues, and merger and demerger activities, among others. She also advises clients in cases relating to illness, poor performance profiles and dismissal.

Anna van Bracht has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister): Employment law.

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

Representative Legal Matters

As trusted advisor to boards of directors as well as works councils of multinationals, Anna van Bracht advises on:

  • reorganizations and collective dismissals (including negotiating collective labour agreements, social plans and conducting related legal proceedings)
  • employee participation law (providing guidance on the set up and execution of consultation procedures based on the Works Council Act as well as conducting related legal proceedings)
  • employment consequences of mergers and acquisitions such as harmonization and integration of employment terms & conditions
  • outsourcing and the social consequences thereof
  • resignation/dismissal of (statutory) directors
  • individual dismissals, disciplinary and grievance procedures and performance management
  • international assignment and secondments, cross-border transfers of employees and Global Employment Companies (GECs); and employment litigation

Corporate Responsibility

Anna has been board member of the ‘stichting Vrienden Botanische Tuin Zuidas’, founded in 1999. This is a foundation supports the botanical garden in Amsterdam Zuidas and fostering public engagement with nature and biodiversity. It is committed to preserving and developing the garden as a green meeting place and educational environment. Moreover, Anna is a mentor of several diversity mentoring programs.
