Mikolaj Urbanski
Biography
Mikolaj is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Corporate Energy and Infrastructure department in London. Since joining the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2024 and qualifying as an associate in March 2026, Mikolaj’s practice has covered a broad range of M&A, joint ventures and private equity transactions. Mikolaj is also a CEDR Accredited Mediator.
Representative Legal Matters
- Advised Zijin on its USD 1.2 billion acquisition of the “RG Gold” Raygorodok gold mine and processing business in Kazakhstan from Verny Capital and RCF.
- Advised Encyclis on its landmark agreements with the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and Low Carbon Contracts Company Limited to deliver the UK’s first full-scale carbon capture plant for Energy-from-Waste.
- Advised Apax Partners on its carve-out acquisition of Finastra’s Treasury and Capital Markets business (Teciem), a global provider of front-to-back treasury and capital markets software.
- Advised Brookfield on their joint venture with The MESH Group to establish a new living platform in the Nordics.
- Advised a global leading mining company on the signing of a Verified Emissions Reduction Purchase Agreement in Africa.
- Advised a state owned mining company on an EPCM contract for the supply a gold processing plant for a mine in the Middle East.
