Biography

Mercedes Subhani is an associate in the IP Tech Practice Group.

Mercedes was the recipient of the International Association of Privacy Professionals Westin Scholar Award. During law school, Mercedes interned at the White House Office of Science and Technology and was invited by the White House Office of the National Cyber Director to speak at its inaugural ‘Women in Cyber’ global event.

Practice Focus

Mercedes leverages her experience in think tank, private, and government sectors to advise clients across all industry sectors within several subgroups of the IP Tech Practice Group. She guides clients in developing and implementing sophisticated artificial intelligence and privacy compliance programs and conducting risk assessments. In cybersecurity, she provides proactive and reactive support, including incident preparedness and response, global cyber law compliance, and data governance. Her practice also includes advising on domestic and international procurement and sourcing arrangement. Drawing on her interdisciplinary background, Mercedes counsels clients on emerging Internet of Things technologies including autonomous vehicles and helps them navigate the complex US regulatory environment, production compliance, importation, tariff strategy, and evolving laws that directly and indirectly impact these innovations.
