Biography
Hannah is a senior associate in the Dispute Resolution Group at Baker McKenzie, Sydney.
Practice Focus
Hannah acts in complex disputes in relation to data protection, data breach, defamation, cybersecurity, misleading and deceptive conduct, breach of confidence, discrimination, media and technology. She has also established herself as a leading advisor to organisations that have experienced cyber incidents internationally, assisting them to navigate largescale, complex attacks through coordination of forensics, operations, legal, regulatory and law enforcement engagement, communications, insurance and threat intelligence.
Representative Legal Matters
- Acting for the group members in class action proceedings against a large Australian health insurance provider following a major data breach in 2022, which reportedly involves millions of individuals.
- Represented an international fast-food company in a class action alleging breach of the Fair Work Act.
- Advised an ASX100 in the technology sector following a cross-border data extortion event, coordinating the response across multiple international offices.
- Coordinated the response to a national multiparty data breach affecting hundreds of thousands of individuals, simultaneously advising eight impacted organisations in the charity and not-for-profit sector.
- Delivered a complex, bespoke cyber simulation to an ASX100, which considered whole-of-business strategy and response in the event of a cyberattack impacting sensitive personal and commercial information.
- Regularly advises clients which have experienced cyber attacks and data breaches, both nationally and internationally.
- Regularly delivers cybersecurity training, AI training and cyber tabletops and simulations, and works with clients to prepare pre- incident cyber materials such as cyber and data breach response plans, policies and playbooks, decision-making frameworks and executive-facing training materials.

Corporate Responsibility
- Marrickville Legal Centre – Hannah regularly conducts pro bono work for MLC’s Youth Service.
- Violence Against Children – Hannah has been involved in a project examining the legal protections, policies and practices available to prevent and address children experiencing violence in many different forms.
- Real Rights – Hannah has been involved in a project considering state, federal and local laws to pull together a guide for youth interacting with police.
