Biography

Aida Spahovic is an associate at our Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Vienna. She joined the Firm in October 2021. Aida has an academic background in Austrian, Serbian and international law. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, she gained experience as a trainee at several renowned Serbian and international law firms, focusing on corporate and criminal law.

Practice Focus

Aida is experienced in international arbitration arising from complex contractual relationships under ICC, VIAC, and UNCITRAL rules. She also assists clients with internal investigations.

  • Representing a major fast food restaurant chain in a dispute concerning the termination of a franchise agreement under ICC rules.

  • Representing a leading pharmaceutical company from the Balkan region in a dispute regarding a food supplement product under VIAC rules.

  • Representing a gas company against the Republic of Moldova in an ICSID arbitration.

  • Represented a German construction company in a construction dispute regarding a wastewater treatment plant under UNCITRAL rules.

  • Advised an Austrian railway company in an insolvency matter in Serbia.

  • Advised a major fast food restaurant chain in a corporate investigation.

  • Conducted due diligence and litigation risk assessment for a prominent financial institution, following its acquisition of a Russian bank.
