Biography

Lucy is an associate in the Firm's Dispute Resolution team. Lucy was seconded to the commercial legal team of a multinational consumer goods company in 2020 and has also spent time working in our Dubai dispute resolution practice. Lucy has a broad range of dispute resolution experience with a particular focus on representing consumer goods companies and financial institutions.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acting for two entities wholly owned by the State of Kuwait in connection with high value fraud claims brought against individuals and entities connected with a fund investment in the Cayman Islands, valued around USD 200 million. 
  • Acting for a well-known consumer goods company in proceedings brought by employees of a supplier, including successfully challenging the jurisdiction of the English Court.
  • Acting for a foreign exchange broker defending a claim arising from termination of its contractual relationship with a former client.
  • Acting for an individual investor and their company in ICSID arbitration proceedings against an African state, valued at over EUR 1 billion
  • Advising for state-backed investors in connection with discovery proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Acting for a French financial institution in connection with English court proceedings relating to allegations of fraud, valued at EUR 100 million.
  • Acting for a Jersey-based private bank (in its capacity as security trustee in a financing arrangement) in connection with threatened proceedings in the English and French courts.
