Biography

Priya is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Corporate M&A practice in London and advises on a wide range of corporate transactions, with a particular focus on private M&A, joint ventures, equity fundraisings and general corporate advisory work.

Prior to joining Baker McKenzie in 2023, Priya spent one year working in the corporate legal team at Revolut and maintains a specific interest in the fintech and tech sectors. Priya trained and qualified at a Magic Circle firm and in 2020, spent six months on secondment to the Singapore office of that firm.

Representative Legal Matters

Recent transactions in which Priya has been involved include:

  • ZZCM Investments Holdings Plc on its signing of an investment agreement with Abu Dhabi’s mining champion International Resources Holding RSC Limited (IRH) under which IRH commits to invest USD $1.1 billion into Mopani Copper Mines Plc, one of Zambia’s most important copper mining operations.

  • Newly Weds Foods, a food products company operating in over 90 countries, on its USD 4 billion plus sale to Redwood Holdings.

  • Accenture (UK) Limited on its acquisition of the 6point6 group, a leading UK-based digital technology consultancy.

  • Indra Sistemas, S.A., on its proposed entry into a 50:50 joint venture in relation to its tender bid for a UK public transport improvement project.

  • eMed LLC, on its acquisition of Babylon Healthcare Services Limited (in administration) and certain assets of Babylon Partners Limited (in administration).

  • RSA Security LLC on the separation and sale of its global business for the provision of software and services in governance, risk and compliance management to Cinven for USD 1.385 billion.

  • Robinhood Markets, Inc. on its initial agreement to acquire Ziglu Limited, the UK EMI and cryptoasset firm for USD 170 million.*

  • Etsy, Inc. on its acquisition of Depop Ltd, the UK online fashion marketplace, for USD 1.625 billion.*

  • Signify B.V. on its acquisition of Telensa Holdings Limited, a global manufacturer and supplier of AI-powered smart city technologies.*
    Saudi Aramco’s USD 15 billion joint venture investment in Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries’ oil-to-chemicals business (aborted).*

Corporate Responsibility

  • Advising Women for Women International, an international charity that supports women survivors of war, on its template commercial partnership agreements with private sector corporate fundraisers.

  • Previously worked for Advocates for International Development, a global charity that provides an international pro bono brokerage service connecting law firms with charities requiring SDG-focused pro bono assistance.
