Tim Robben
Biography
Tim Robben is a senior associate of Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Dusseldorf.
Tim pursues his passion for resolving disputes at Baker McKenzie since 2022. He first concentrated on international dispute resolution during his university studies and later, during his legal clerkship, gained experience in commercial and corporate disputes as well as international arbitration at various international law firms.
Tim regularly holds workshops at universities on the topic of legal writing.

He has extensive experience in disputes in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors, with a particular focus on large-scale, complex software and transformation projects, IT outsourcing, and data centers.

- Advised and successfully represented an international IT company in a dispute with a healthcare-sector customer regarding the extension of software licences. The dispute focused on whether competition law required the IT company to extend the licences after the customer sought such relief in preliminary injunction proceedings.
- Represented and advised an international IT company in a dispute arising from a failed ERP software project in the manufacturing sector. The dispute centred on the interpretation of the IT outsourcing company’s scope of work.
- Currently represents and advises an international IT company in a dispute arising from claims related to a large-scale IT transformation project in the telecommunications sector.
- Currently represents and advises an international IT company in a dispute concerning claims arising from an FSM software project in the telecommunications sector.
- Currently represents and advises an international IT company in a dispute arising from a failed software project in the public administration sector. The dispute centres on the interpretation of the scope of work and an extensive evidentiary hearing regarding the condition of the software.
- Currently represents and advises an international mobility company on various aspects of its IT outsourcing setup, particularly its data centre activities.
- Successfully represented and advised an international facility management company in a dispute with a software company arising from a failed software project in the service sector. The principal terminated the development project after repeated unsuccessful attempts by the contractor to complete the functional design documents and significant delays.
