Dr. Tivadar Ötvös LL.M., Ph.D.
Biography
Tivadar Ötvös is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s Competition Law Practice Group in Budapest. Tivadar practices in EU and CEE competition law, with particular focus on Hungarian, Slovak and Czech antitrust regimes. He regularly advises Hungarian and Slovak clients on complex antitrust matters and assists companies in designing and executing internal investigations aimed at uncovering competition law infringements, as well as broader ethical and regulatory compliance issues. He has also extensive experience advising automotive industry clients on vertical restraints, distribution models, and technical regulatory questions across multiple jurisdictions. Tivadar’s practice encompasses furthermore trade compliance, particularly advising on matters related to dual-use item export control and the application of EU sanctions regimes.
Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Tivadar worked as a research associate at a European think tank, where he contributed to several EU-funded international projects in the fields of competition, energy, and environmental law.
