Biography

Ken Ng is a special counsel in Baker McKenzie's Hong Kong office and a member of the Firm's Employment & Compensation Practice Group. He has extensive experience advising on all aspects of employment law, with a particular focus on contentious employment matters, including litigation and internal investigations.

Ken regularly assists multinational clients in high-profile employment disputes, including whistleblower complaints, regulatory inquiries, enforcement of restrictive covenants, equal opportunities and discrimination claims, investigation and prosecutions for Labour and MPF-related offences, and workplace investigations. He has represented clients across all levels of the Hong Kong court, and frequently advises on employment law aspects of corporate transactions.

Ken is recognised by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2025 as one of the key labour and employment lawyers in Hong Kong. A client noted: “Ken Ng knows the HK market quite well. On top of solid knowledge about HK employment regulations and legal technicalities, he is able to provide more hand-holding advice to clients' in-house HR during the preparation of local arbitration proceedings to alleviate the anxiety of some stakeholders in clients.”

  • Advised a global bank on sensitive internal investigations involving whistle-blower allegations and termination of senior executives.
  • Represented a global financial corporation in a disability discrimination action in the District Court.
  • Successfully represented multinational companies, including major financial institutions, international banks, property developers, airlines, insurers, pharmaceutical companies and hospitality groups, in employment litigation involving high-value monetary claims.
  • Acted as the primary advisor to a global bank on a broad spectrum of employment and HR matters, including disciplinary actions, employee misconduct, and equal opportunities complaints.
