Allison Murphy
Biography
Allison Murphy is a partner in Baker McKenzie’s Dispute Resolution Practice Group and leads the Firm’s Congressional Investigations Practice in Washington DC. She guides clients on significant congressional and government investigations, drawing on frontline experience in House and Senate investigative committees and in the White House Counsel’s Office. Her practice reaches the full spectrum of congressional and enforcement scrutiny – state attorneys general, the DOJ, FTC, SEC and related litigation. She prepares CEOs and other senior individuals for public testimony and counsels public and private companies on seeing around the corner to prepare for potential oversight issues, as well as navigating strategic response and reputational risk matters across a diverse range of industries.
With a decade of experience on Capitol Hill, including as Chief Oversight Counsel to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis and as Counsel to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She previously served as Associate Counsel in the White House, advising senior Executive Branch officials on congressional inquiries as well as litigation involving executive privilege.
