Biography

Hamish advises sponsors, borrowers and financial institutions on a wide range of complex financing transactions, including private credit and syndicated acquisition and other leveraged and investment-grade financings, asset-based financings, liability management and special situations exercises, and structured credit financings (including trade and commodity finance).

In addition, he advises institutional lenders, hedge funds, private equity funds and corporations in negotiating derivative and repurchase agreements, as well as other trading and financing documentation and complex structured financial products.

Hamish has extensive experience in the Asian, North American and European markets and has acted as lead counsel on many market-leading transactions, including three 'Deals of the Year'. Prior to joining BM, Hamish worked at a top-tier firm in Melbourne before spending seven years practicing in the United States, where he was a partner at a leading New York firm.

  • Represented a private equity sponsor with respect to its acquisition of a major medical device manufacturer utilising a USD 7.6 billion loan financing package consisting of a USD 500 million ABL facility, a USD 750 million secured cash flow revolving facility and a USD 6.35 billion secured term facility (comprising a USD 4.2 billion tranche and a EUR 1.95 billion tranche).*
