Kamogelo Mashigo is an associate in Baker McKenzie's Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Johannesburg.

Kamogelo assists corporate and commercial clients in all aspects relating to commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Practice Focus

Kamogelo has experience in dealing with a broad spectrum of complex and high-value international and domestic litigation, local and international arbitrations and corporate investigations with specialist expertise in anti-bribery and corruption investigations.

He also assists with construction arbitrations and was actively involved in editing the Africa Construction Law Conference articles alongside Michelle Porter-Wright and Tiffany Gray.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised The Bidvest Group (UK) Plc in the proposed sale of the entire issued share capital of Nexgen Holdings 1 Limited and its subsidiary undertakings.
  • Advised and conducted a corporate investigation on behalf of a global medical technology manufacturer and distributor of orthopaedic products following allegations of bribery and corruption in relation to the distribution contract awarded to its South African third-party logistics partner.
  • Represented an EPC contractor on a dispute with a supplier of equipment and plant on a distressed solar power plant project in Australia.
  • Conducted an investigation into allegations of sexual harassment by a senior executive of a multinational chemicals and energy company.
  • Advised a UAE-based subsidiary of one of the world's largest international vertically integrated oil and gas companies in respect of a claim for breach of a distribution agreement against a South African company, that provides custom bonded warehousing for liquid bulk storage and bulk minerals and intermodal.
  • Advised a multinational manufacturer of premium motorcycles' technical subcommittee on a potential concern regarding its display instrumentation on motorcycles that were distributed in the South African market which presented an error in the odometer designation. This was mainly due to a software error that was noncompliant with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe vehicle regulations.
