Biography
Julia King is a partner at Baker McKenzie's Taipei office. Her practice focuses on areas such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), general transactions, capital markets, and antitrust/competition law. Through her extensive experience, Julia has assisted clients in handling M&A matters, including cross-border corporate transactions and investments, joint ventures, and equity restructuring. Additionally, Julia provides legal advisory services on antitrust/competition law compliance issues for various multinational enterprises, including prominent e-commerce platforms, multilevel marketing companies, and luxury brands.

- Represented LITE-ON Technology Corporation in its disposal of the SSD Business to Toshiba Memory Corporation.
- Represented one of the world's biggest luxury groups in its acquisition of minority shareholding in its supplier in Taiwan.
Capital Markets
- Represented an American Taiwan-based electronic component manufacturing company in relation to its USD180 million Regulation S convertible bond offerings.
- Represented an American Taiwan-based electronic component manufacturing company in relation to its USD 650 million Rule 144 GDR/Regulation S GDR offerings.
- Represented a Taiwan-based TFT-LCD panels manufacturer in relation to its USD 300 million Regulation S convertible bond offerings.
- Represented a consumer-focused investment firm in its disposal of shares in Dr. Wu through the way of block trade.
Antitrust
- Represented a global leading consumer healthcare company in its merger control notification to Taiwan Fair Trade Commission regarding its proposed acquisition of a competing consumer healthcare business.
- Advised multinationals (including pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturers) in various projects in relation to the abuse of dominance concerns and the resale price maintenance.
- Represented a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation in its merger control notification to Taiwan Fair Trade Commission regarding its proposed acquisition of one of the world’s biggest power grid businesses.
- Represented one of the world's largest providers of independent semiconductor manufacturing services in assembly and test in its merger control notification to Taiwan Fair Trade Commission regarding its proposed acquisition of a major independent semiconductor manufacturing services in assembly and test.
- Represented a Taiwanese multinational electronics contract manufacturer in its merger control notification to Taiwan Fair Trade Commission regarding its proposed USD 3.8 billion acquisition of a Japanese competitor.
