Biography

AJ is an associate in Baker McKenzie’s North America Transactional Practice Group. Her home office is San Francisco, and she is currently on secondment at the firm’s London office until September 2025.

Practice Focus

AJ advises public and private companies on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border reorganizations, and corporate governance, with a particular focus on startups and the technology sector. She also specializes in real estate transactions, and regularly leads the real estate component of large, multi-jurisdictional matters.

  • Advised Abbott Laboratories the on real estate components of multiple strategic transactions, including a cross-border acquisition (USD 550 million), a merger (USD 180 million), and a large-scale divestiture.
  • Advised a European satellite operator on the carve-out and sale of a majority stake in in its broadcast infrastructure business across 30 jurisdictions.
  • Advised a global building materials company on the real estate components of a multi-year internal restructuring and asset sale across 13 jurisdictions.
  • Advised Alphabet in its acquisition of Alter, an AI avatar startup.
  • Advised Affirm Holdings, Inc. in its USD 300 million acquisition of Returnly, a leader in online return experiences and post-purchase payments.
  • Advised Affirm, Inc. on cross-border reorganization and corporate governance matters related to its Spain-based subsidiary.
  • Advised SecurityAdvisor Technologies in its acquisition by NASDAQ-listed cybersecurity company KnowBe4, Inc.
  • Advised Planet Labs PBC in its strategic acquisition of Slovenia-based Holding Sinergise d.o.o., a leading developer platform for earth observation data.
  • Advised Calera Capital in its acquisition of Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Company, LLC from The Anderson Group, LLC.
  • Advised a Palo Alto-based robotics technology company on multiple seed funding rounds.
