Biography

Luci is a senior associate in the Employment & Compensation team in London.

Luci joined Baker McKenzie as a trainee in March 2014 and qualified into the Employment & Compensation team in March 2016. Luci has undertaken a number of secondments during her time with Baker McKenzie to clients within financial services and the media and aviation industries.

Luci advises on a variety of contentious and non-contentious domestic and multijurisdictional employment matters, with a particular focus on domestic litigation.

Practice Focus

Luci has a broad practice, with her main areas of focus being domestic litigation in the Employment Tribunal and High Court, and day-to-day advisory support. Luci also has significant experience in advising on large restructuring projects both on a domestic and multijurisdictional basis. In particular:

  • Luci is a strategic and effective litigator, and has worked on various complex, high-value litigation matters for clients across a broad range of sectors.
  • Luci has also developed a strong advisory practice, which includes advice on domestic and multijurisdictional projects, employee management and redundancy processes.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Acting for British Airways in the defence of high-value and complex Employment Tribunal claims brought by multiple claimants in response to a restructuring process undertaken as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Acting for an employer within the financial services industry on the defence of multiple complex disability discrimination claims brought by an existing employee.
  • Acting for an employer within the transportation industry in the defence of misclassification claims in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal.
  • Supporting a client within the technology industry in raising an injunction in the High Court in respect of a former employee's new role at a competitor.
  • Advising a client within the media industry on a large global restructuring exercise, resulting in a large reduction in workforce across EMEA.
