Paul Gielen
Biography
Paul is a junior associate at Baker McKenzie's Amsterdam office. He joined Baker McKenzie in September 2024 and he was sworn in as a lawyer in February 2023. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, he worked at an Amsterdam based boutique law firm specialised in (European) sanctions and export controls.
Practice Focus
Paul is experienced in international trade, European law and policy, sanctions, export controls, foreign direct investment, and competition law. With a background in international trade and investment law, he advises clients on the legality of cross-border transactions, sanctions risks, exports and imports, and has conducted internal trade compliance investigations.
