Biography

Peryhane Gawish is a senior associate at Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo. She focuses on corporate and commercial matters, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions as well as project finance and banking. She assists on a daily basis various multinationals operating in the healthcare and telecommunication sectors in routine corporate and commercial matters. Peryhane obtained an LLB from Cairo University's Faculty of Law in 2015. She later went on to earn a Master’s degree in International and European Business Law from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, Institut De Droit des Affairs Internationales (IDAI) in 2017. Peryhane was admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association in 2018.

  • Advised Indorama Ventures PCL, a world-class sustainable chemical company, producer of intermediate petrochemicals industry, and the world's largest producer of PET resins, on an acquisition to increase its stake to 100% of its local company in Egypt.

  • Advised the Swiss construction chemicals group Sika AG on the acquisition of MBCC Group (Master Builders Construction Chemicals), the former BASF Construction Chemicals division, from Lone Star Funds, a global private equity firm, for a consideration of CHF 5.5 billion (EUR 5.2 billion).

  • Advised on the acquisition by a renewable energy of a hydroelectric profile in Portugal for a value of EUR 2.2 billion.

  • Advised on a joint venture between two renewable energy companies in France and Spain for their offshore wind projects.

  • Represented the lenders on an onshore wind project.

  • Represented an energy company during the acquisition of an Oil & Gas profile with assets in Egypt for a total value of USD 650 million.

  • Assisted with the undertaking the capital increase of an amount of USD 70 million of a major company working in the automotive sector.

  • Represented angel investors in a Series A funding transaction.

  • Represented buyers on the acquisition of a major retail company in Egypt.
