Biography

Adnan Doha is a partner at Baker McKenzie’s Dubai office. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked for an international law firm in Dubai, and prior to that a magic circle law firm in London for over a decade.

Practice Focus

Adnan has extensive experience in public and private M&A, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and corporate finance matters. He represents corporate, private equity and financial institution clients on a range of key strategic transactions. His sector focus spans consumer goods and retail, energy and infrastructure, technology and e-commerce, healthcare and life sciences, real estate, hospitality and leisure.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advised ADQ on its USD 75 million minority investment in Biocon Biologics, an Indian bio-pharma business valued at USD 4 billion.

  • Advised ADQ on its minority investment in Byju, an Indian education technology company valued at USD 16.5 billion.

  • Advised Masdar on its joint venture with EDF to launch a solar, renewables and energy savings venture with operations across the Middle East and North Africa.

  • Advised Masdar on the sale of the Masdar City district cooling company to Tabreed.

  • Advised Masdar and EDF on the sale of a significant minority interest in a wind power project to Nesma Holding.

  • Advised Occidental Petroleum on the sale of certain African LNG assets to Total for USD 3.9 billion.

  • Advised Total on its joint venture with six consortium partners in relation to a USD 20 billion LNG project in Mozambique.

  • Advised Nazer Group on the sale of a minority interest in Bupa Arabia, a public insurance company listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange, to Bupa International for USD 135 million.

  • Advised GFH Financial Group on the acquisition of an education portfolio across Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

  • Advised Baker Hughes (a GE Company) on the acquisition of a minority stake in ADNOC Drilling for USD 550 million.

  • Advised NBK Capital on the acquisition of 4Sale International, an e-commerce business with operations across the Middle East and North Africa for up to USD 100 million.
