Biography

Marek Disman heads the Firm’s Real Estate & Environment Practice Group in the Czech Republic.

Practice Focus

Marek focuses on complex real estate, development, leasing and transaction-related matters. He regularly advises international and domestic clients on the real estate aspects of M&A transactions, restructurings, and portfolio projects across multiple jurisdictions.

He has acted on a broad range of high-profile mandates involving logistics and industrial parks, production facilities, office and retail premises, built-to-suit developments, sale and leaseback transactions and large-scale real estate portfolio reviews. His recent experience includes advising on landmark industrial and logistics projects in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and the wider CEE region, as well as on real estate matters connected with major global corporate transactions.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Providing advice on real estate aspects of the liquidation and insolvency proceedings of Sberbank CZ, as part of the ongoing liquidation of all banking operations of Sberbank CZ and its subsequent insolvency, which is the largest insolvency case in the Czech justice's modern history.
  • Advised Georg Fischer AG on real estate aspects of the acquisition of the VAG-Group, a prominent international producer and distributor of water supply valves, from the investment company Aurelius.
  • Advised a multinational technology company on a strategically significant and landmark Prague office leasing project concerning Danube House in Karlín, Prague 8.
  • Advised a real estate developer and manager on the preparation of comprehensive contractual documentation for the green field development of a logistics park in Croatia with approximately 83,000 sqm of warehouse space.
  • Advised a real estate developer and manager as the landlord on drafting and negotiation of a major logistics lease with (i) a consumer packaged goods and bottling company and (ii) a manufacturer of chemical products for the building industry at RC Zone Samobor, Croatia.
  • Advised on the sale and leaseback of a portfolio of production facilities from our client, a major multinational producer of food and beverages, across multiple jurisdictions, comprising two major production plants in the Czech Republic and one in Slovakia.
  • Advised on real estate matters related to a global spin-off of a multinational healthcare company's renal care and acute therapies businesses.
  • Advised a leading material handling provider, as the single tenant of a production facility with area of 40,000 square meters, with tenancy aspects of a transaction, which included a split of the industrial park into two parts and the sale of the production facility to a third-party by way of share transfer.
  • Assisted a luxury fashion and accessories company with real estate matters related to operation of luxury fashion boutiques in Europe.
  • Advised a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company on real estate matters related to global spin-off of their consumer health business into a new structure.
