Biography

Marloes Diepenbach is a counsel in the Employment and Pensions practice group at Baker McKenzie's Amsterdam office. She initially joined the Firm in 1999 and worked there until 1 July 2013, most recently in the role of Legal Director. Prior to rejoining Baker McKenzie in 2025, Marloes held various positions at the University of Amsterdam and at another law firm.

Marloes regularly publishes in legal journals. She also supervises bachelor and master's students at the University of Amsterdam in writing their theses.

Marloes is a member of the editorial boards of the legal journals Tijdschrift voor Arbeidsrecht in Context and Tijdschrift voor Ontslagrecht, a role she has held for several years.

Marloes has registered Employment Law as the principal legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar's register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in the registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

Practice Focus

Marloes advises clients on works council matters, European employee participation structures (including European Works Councils and employee involvement in European Companies), collective bargaining, and major reorganizations, including (collective) dismissals. She has expertise in collective labor law.
