Biography

Helen Davenport is Lead Knowledge Lawyer for Baker McKenzie's Global Technology Sector group. She is responsible for developing, managing and executing knowledge strategy, including sector, client and legal content projects, training and knowledge initiatives for the group. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, Helen was a partner at a renowned international law firm, where she led the Cyber and Contentious Data Privacy practice for the UK firm, and handled a range of other technology litigation matters. She has over 20 years' experience as a technology sector lawyer.

Practice Focus

Helen's practice background includes privacy and cybersecurity, including incident response and disputes, and technology litigation. Her technology litigation experience includes handling disputes arising from contracts for IT services and systems and software licensing matters, in a range of sectors, as well as cases relating to data centres and in the telecoms industry. She’s also handled claims around trade secrets/confidential information, advised on matters involving advanced technologies, including AI, crypto assets, and blockchain, and given professional witness testimony on English law for proceedings conducted in the US. Helen’s experience also includes internal investigations, e.g. relating to alleged bribery and corruption, fraud litigation, and anti-bribery compliance.
