Biography

Emma is an associate in the Employment & Compensation Department of Baker McKenzie in London. She joined Baker McKenzie in March 2022 as a trainee solicitor. During her training contract in London, she spent time in the Corporate Reorganisations, Employment, Intellectual Property and Technology teams. She also spent six months in the Melbourne office in their Employment team. She subsequently qualified as an associate and was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in March 2024.

Practice Focus

Emma advises global clients on a broad range of employment law matters across a number of sectors in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Emma works across all practice areas but has a particular focus on data privacy and litigious matters.

Representative Legal Matters

Since joining the Employment department, Emma has worked on a variety of matters including the following:

  • Advisory - Providing day-today employment advice on key issues such as redundancy, grievance and disciplinary processes, preparing and negotiating settlement terms, as well as coordinating multijurisdictional advice across a broad spectrum of issues. Recently advised a multinational technology company in relation to the outsourcing of a business line and associated TUPE procedure.
  • Litigation - Assisting in the defence of a wide array of employment litigation for clients in a range of sectors, including experience of practising before appellate courts and managing large-scale worker status litigation.
  • Transactions - Advising on large-scale carve-outs and acquisitions on both buy and sell side, involving complex and multijurisdictional employment issues, as well as undertaking the UK side of employment due diligence.
  • Data protection - Assisting clients in responding to complex data subject access requests, updating privacy notices and privacy policies, and advising on the impact of the Data Use and Access Act 2025.
