Biography

Matthew is an associate in the Employment Group of the London office at Baker McKenzie. Matthew joined the Firm in August 2015, having previously worked as an associate in the UK offices of an international firm.

Practice Focus

Matthew's practice focuses on all aspects of employment law and he has experience in multi-jurisdictional matters. This includes both the co-ordination of multi-jurisdictional projects and advising on international and domestic transactions. Matthew has also worked on a broad variety of other employment matters including day to day employment issues and advising a number of clients on data protection compliance and employee privacy issues.

Representative Legal Matters

  • Advising a global corporation on the spin out of a part of their business involving share and asset transfers in over 67 jurisdictions.
  • Advising on and negotiating the employment provisions of numerous share and asset purchase agreements.
  • Co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional advice on numerous topics including employee grading systems, policy implementations and background checks.
  • Advising a global corporation on the establishment of their Special Negotiating Body and European Works Council.
  • Advising clients on outsourcing arrangements to a variety of EU and non-EU jurisdictions.
  • Advising a global corporation on the implementation of a new global data protection framework.
