Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv office is proud to announce that it has received two prestigious accolades at the Law.com’s Leadership, Influence & Inclusivity in Law Awards 2025, at the ceremony held in London on 4 December 2025:
• Wellbeing & Inclusivity in Practice Award, honoring organizations that demonstrate exceptional dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace culture and prioritizing employee wellbeing
• Law Firm Leader of the Year was awarded to Serhiy Chorny, Co-Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv office — a testament to his visionary leadership, strategic impact, and commitment to excellence in client service and team development
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Baker McKenzie’s Kyiv office has launched numerous initiatives to support employees’ mental health and wellbeing, as well as overall Kyiv team’s morale and resilience. These include mental health lectures, yoga and psychological sessions, gender equity and internship programs. The office joined the Women’s Empowerment Principles in 2024 and signed the Declaration of Principles for Veteran-Friendly Businesses in 2025. The team continues its tradition of supporting young legal talent through scholarships for outstanding students and, this year, sponsored the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy team in the 48th Telders International Law Moot Court Competition.
“These awards reflect our unwavering focus on creating an environment where our people can grow and our clients receive the highest level of service, even under the current unprecedented conditions,” said Serhiy Chorny, Co-Managing Partner of the Kyiv office. “I am honored to be recognized individually, but this achievement truly belongs to our entire team in Kyiv and Baker McKenzie globally. With the Firm’s support, over the past years we have worked tirelessly to ensure our team’s safety and wellbeing, business continuity, and broader community care. These values are at the heart of everything we do.”
