The Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism has published a draft resolution introducing due diligence and preventive risk management criteria on forced labor within supply chains linked to international trade. Expected before 7 August 2026, it does not impose import bans, but creates mechanisms for authorities to identify and assess risks tied to goods potentially connected to forced labor. The proposal is especially relevant for companies exporting to or importing from the United States, or operating in global supply chains. Businesses should map and document their supply chains, trace the origin of raw materials, and evidence due diligence with suppliers to mitigate reputational, commercial, and regulatory risks.
