Biography

James Tenrai is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Baker McKenzie, where his practice focuses on corporate and securities law.

Practice Focus

James regularly advises clients on all forms of domestic and cross-border M&A, joint ventures, corporate and financial venture capital, and other complex corporate transactions. He represents serial acquirers, strategic investors, venture capital funds and emerging growth technology companies across variety of industries, with a primary focus in the technology and life sciences sectors.

James also assists clients with entering the US market, doing business globally and expanding internationally, including entity formation and corporate compliance matters.

  • Advised Yageo on its corporate reorganization of acquired Schneider Electric’s Telemecanique Sensors business entities.
  • Advised Monumental Studios on its acquisition of Kongregate.
  • Advised Kanematsu and MUFG on their equity investment into a space exploration company.
  • Advised Seiko Epson Corp and Development Bank of Japan on their equity investment in 3DEO.
  • Advised ClavystBio Investments and Polaris Partners on their equity investment into a biotech company.
