Biography

Stéphane Martin is a senior counsel in the Tax Practice Group in the Brussels office. He joined Baker McKenzie in 2025, bringing over 25 years of experience from leading advisory firms.

Stéphane is also a guest lecturer in the Master in Tax Management program at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.

Practice Focus

Stéphane advises on Belgian and international tax law, with particular expertise in the taxation of the financial industry. He has extensive experience supporting insurance companies, banks, and asset managers on the tax aspects of complex corporate restructurings, regulatory-driven transformations, as well as financial products and services. He also assists commercial and industrial groups with the tax aspects of their financing and investments.

In addition to his legal practice, Stéphane is a guest lecturer in insurance taxation in the Master in Tax Management program at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
