Biography

Lance Martin has specialized in international tax planning since joining Baker McKenzie in the Bay Area in 1998. He has advised a broad range of technology companies on tax planning for cross-border business operations. Lance is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California.

Practice Focus

Lance works with multinational companies on international tax planning for business operations and on the implementation of intercompany transactions within the corporate group. He has worked with companies to develop and implement intangible property development and licensing arrangements; manufacturing, distribution, and service supply chains; post-acquisition integrations of acquired companies and assets; reorganizations through spin-offs, divestitures, and joint ventures; intercompany transfer pricing positions; intercompany financing arrangements; loss utilization; foreign business investments; and foreign parent company structures. He has also worked with companies on tax dispute resolution across multiple jurisdictions.
