Carlos is a Team Leader at the Employment & Compensation and Sports Law departments in Madrid.

Employment & Compensation

  • Advising an international software company in all the legal matters pertaining to the reorganization of the workforce of the client's operations in Spain and Portugal, including a reduction of 30% of the number of employees.
  • Advising a major streaming platform in relation to the dismissal of part of the staff during the production of a TV series that it had already committed to produce in Spain due to exceptional circumstances in 2020.
  • Advising and defending a major multinational technology services and distribution company in the collective action brought by the CCOO and CGT unions challenging the working conditions applicable to its employees in Madrid following the expiration of the company's collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

Sports

  • Ongoing legal advice to several football clubs on all employment issues arising from the transfer of players, including the negotiation with the clubs and player's agents, the drafting of all relevant transfer documents, sponsorship agreements and image rights.
  • Advising and representing soccer players in various proceedings before the FIFA Football Tribunal and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
  • Advising a US Investor in the potential acquisition of a Spanish LaLiga Second Division Club. Assistance included preliminary legal and financial due-diligence of the target Clubs, as well as strategic advice in the negotiation with CEOs of the target Clubs.
