Biography
Juan is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Madrid office. With more than 20 years of experience, Juan leads the Firm's Transactional Banking & Finance practice in Madrid. He is recognized by prestigious directories such as Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500. Juan also participates as a teacher in several postgraduate programs at the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE) and is a participant in courses and conferences organized by various institutions.

Juan Gelabert has extensive experience in the financial sector, advising international and domestic clients on financing, refinancing and restructuring transactions. He has been involved in numerous acquisition, project, restructuring and structured finance transactions, advising banks, debt and private equity funds, sponsors and issuers. He also has extensive experience in the sports finance sector, having advised on some of the most significant transactions in recent years.

Prior to joining the Firm, Juan:
- Advised Goldman Sachs and several institutional investors on the EUR 1,450 million financing for the construction of Espai Barça (new stadium of FC Barcelona).
- Advised Muzinich&Co and LGT Capital Partners on the financing for the acquisition of Tiendanimal by Miura Capital.
- Advised a consortium of international banks led by Rabobank and BNP on the EUR 213 million financing of a portfolio of photovoltaic plants in Spain and Italy, owned by Alantra Solar.
- Advised ING and other international banks on the EUR 291 million financing granted to Avalon Properties (owned by Ares Management) of a portfolio of build to rent assets in Spain.
- Advised Pricoa Private Capital on the EUR 65 million financing granted to Blue Sun.
- Advised KKR on the rescue financing and restructuring of Grupo Gallardo.
- Advised ING on the EUR 110 financing granted to Clarion Partners for the acquisition of several logistics assets in Spain.
- Advised KKR on the rescue financing and restructuring of URSA.
- Advised Pricoa Private Capital on the EUR 65 million financing granted to Betis Football Club.
- Advised Blackstone, Goldman Sachs and Neuberger Berman on the restructuring of the debt of several hospitality assets owned by Urvasco (Silken hotels).
- Advised Muzinich&Co on the financing and equity investment in Natac Group.
- Advised LGT Capital Partners in the mezzanine financing for the acquisition of Grupo Palacios by MCH.
